I cut ties with someone like this. It was just frustrating and draining. Like talking to a wall tbh. I told them, they said they do it to everyone then I said then it’s a you problem!

That sounds like way too much. they should just heal before entering a relationship than having their partner feel miserable never hearing back and dealing with excuses all day on why they they are avoiding them.

You can do all the work for an avoidant and they still try to keep you in the friend zone and come back despite communicating that you love them and it hurts to much to just be friends.

well then, that means you only care about yourself, i understand the reasons, but you also hurts other by doing it. that's nonchalant and self pitty. just say, "i need time to be alone, i don't mean to ignore you". it's more than enough. just be clear with everything, they can't read your mind.
