It seems you may be confusing the annoyed with customers look with the Gen z stare. it's not just when they are put in a position of being the employee. this is all kinds of interactions, including when they are customers, or even random people on the street. You say hello and they just 👁️_👁️

I think boomers were raised by parents who went through the great depression, WWII, and the Korean War. these parents overprotected their children, hid difficulties in their relationship, finances, the world. Boomers were not prepared for real world difficulties. They raised us genxr's without guidance, didn't teach practical skills, nor how to build a life planning for the future. If they kept us alive till 18 their job was done and we were pushed on and completely on our own.

Good analogy. Sadly the state is very off putting and decades from now they will realize life depends on communication skills. Regret may be an enormous thing to deal with later in life.

tbh they've been getting on my fucking nerves for a while. I go to pay for gas and a tea. No greeting, talk to their friends behind the counter or texting on their phones completely ignoring you. When you speak up they show visible annoyance. When you pay with cash they act like they don't know basic math. At this point I make it a point to make them uncomfortable or laugh or quit. The job of a comedian is thankless but I've probably stopped a few mass shootings
