My friends stepdad died on the first week of a 3 week cruise. He was held in a morgue on board and his mum had to stay on the cruise for the remaining 2.5 weeks. They offered no support to her whatsoever and wouldn’t release his body until the end of the cruise. I can’t imagine how traumatic that must have been for her 😔

Ex Crew member here: you’re right about the security but I lol’d about the ships being used to trafficking. It’s just not true & nothing guests love more on holiday than yapping rumours & pure rubbish about cruises 😅 book another, you’ll be alreet

I went on a Disney cruise a few years ago I was maybe 14 it was a great experience actually but a few doors down from me on the first night a guy was reeeeaaalllyyyy drunk and yelling at his wife who was trying to comfort their like newborn baby. On the second night around 2 am I wake up to an announcement being called right above my head(I was on the top bunk of the bunk bed me and my sister shared) and it was saying “code sierra” over and over. Which obviously you’re gonna get a little scared but I was like oh well maybe they just had a tiny fire in the kitchen. Then that night we got to our first stop a few hours early during the night (4 am instead of 7am) and later on my mum finds out we got there early because a man was being abuse and had to be sedated so that he could get arrested in a different state. It then clicks to me that it was probably that guy from a few doors down. I’m just lucky I never had to walk past their room I guess and I hope that woman and kid are doing ok now:)

This is exactly why I’ve never wanted to go on a cruise! Plus… the idea of being in the middle of the ocean overnight, in total blackness, is nightmare fuel for me.

my brother works for Royal Carribbean. During lockdown they were locked in their basic staff cabins (no guests on board) they were given one meal and minimal water left by their door each day. he's 6"6 and couldn't sit up in the small bunk bed so his choice was lay down, stand or eat dinner while sat on the floor as there aren't any chairs in the rooms. they auctioned off the guest rooms as prizes to be won. he could hear people crying all day in their rooms. people were jumping. he tested positive for COVID in Miami airport and they didn't tell him and when he got on ship they realised and he was given electric shock therapy. they drs barely spoke English so he had no idea what they were doing to even consent to it. the whole thing was insane and no one cared what so ever

we covered a bunch of cruise ship cases in law school and I'm never ever going on one. absolutely awful, floating petri dishes, lax security, over servicing of alcohol, lots of violence and drugs. nope nope nope.

I used to hate the thought of cruising and I always said I would never do it. I’m terrified of the sea unless I can see to the bottom and rarely go in the sea. But actually I went on my first one 2 months ago, had the best time and felt super safe!! Next one in 2 weeks time 😍😍
