@equipmeot1: 🚨Air Mattress Lift Test!🚨 Can an air mattress really help lift someone off the floor? We put it to the test.💨🛏️ This technique is sometimes used in emergency and caregiving settings to help someone who’s fallen — but does it actually work? The answer: yes! (But not for everyone)… 👇 Comment your thoughts or experiences below! #occupationaltherapy #caregiver #otstudent #homehealth #arthritis #chronicillness #homehealthcare #caregiversupport #fallprevention
I’m picturing grandpa waking up in the middle of the mattress inflating and feeling himself rising up to heaven 😝

How are you gonna be sure that they did not get injured with a sudden fall to the ground? That's how many people have Asian hip fracture or femur fracture. If somebody fell suddenly to the ground, are be highly suspicious of injury. Especially somebody older with mobility problems to begin with.

There’s a proper medical lifting device like this. Called a Mangar lifting cushion.

please no one do this respectfully there's a lot of injuries sometimes people can't tell you or you can't see and it's just not safe to move people unless you've been a medical professional and have help. things like this may seem like they help but it can really mess someone up. if someone is falling and it's chronic they need to be assessed.

QUESTION : does someone know an air mattress that is sturdy enough to survive daily use (mostly bedbound) but can also "fold" with the positions of my electric bed. It doesn't need to be inflated fully as I use is to prevent pressure pain (already tried those anti pressure sore mattresses with a motor but they were still too painful for me)?
I already bought 2 that are meant for the pool and they worked great for a little While but than they kept getting new holes and I can't keep up with repairing them or buying new ones each time 😔. Can someone help me please?? 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hoyer lift for everyone's safety (especially caregiver). I find this clever tho for a caregiver who is physically strong.

we use something similar in the hospital after a surgery. it blows up and moves them from the operating table to the stretcher to transport the patient.

he seems like he isn't a super lightweight person either, so it's good to see the mattress could still inflate with him on there. I'd be worried with someone 300lbs+

Use a belt around the persons weight for transfers so that you don’t contentedly hurt your back and under the arms can cause nerve damage to that person 🙌

There’s a similar method used in CNA training for some facilities. I’ve also seen EMS use a similar technique for non-ambulatory residents to go from bed to stretcher and vice versa.
