Registered nurse here. Only tablets that are scored are meant to be cut in half. Extended release, time release, delayed release tablets must not be divided. Ask your doctor before cutting any medication in half.

Never split an enteric coated tablet. They are coated because they can upset the stomach, think Ecotrin
