I work for a huge aluminum producer in Canada. We have 6.5 years left on a huge contract with an American appliance maker. They cannot source it in America as per our contract. We’ve put up our prices on aluminum. Plus now they are going to be hit with 35% which they’ve already informed us will be passed to the consumer. Have fun in six months America when your toaster costs $200.

The letters are not well written. Trump doesn’t seem to understand that only proper nouns (names of people, places) should be capitalized. Words like tariff, market access, and trade deficit should all be in lower case.

Hear me out: while each country cannot cut out US and make everything on their own, Canada+Europe+allies can definitely agree to each add manfacturing where they have expertise, existing resources (assembly line etc) and natural resources. Figure out the gaps, to cut out US as much as possible. This is starting to happen and when it comes to fruition and increases, the US economy will suffer. Crazy how the Republicans are letting it happen on their watch.

A well known British company buys hydraulic seals from the US, but because of the uncertainty of the tariffs has now started to buy them from China for a fraction of the price. US lose out!

If the usa continues to isolate themself this way by treating their partners like them are doing things are gonna be bad for americans and they wont be able to afford anything. No countries are able to source everything at 100% Canada E-U and Asia are rerouting their buisiness and at the end we Will be fine.
