As I always say food is fuel. Just because you’re cutting or trying to lose weight doesn’t mean you stop eating. In fact, you need food to lose weight, especially if you want to hold onto the muscle you’ve worked hard for. Right now, I’m down to 165lbs from 190lbs, and I’ve got about 10 more pounds to go. I’ve never done a cut this drastic before, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned enjoy the process and be patient. People keep asking, “Why are you trying to lose weight? You already look fine.” And the answer is simple: It’s for me, not for you. I’m a competitive powerlifter currently in my off-season recovering from an injury. I needed a goal to keep me grounded physically and mentally. I’ve been wanting to shed some fat, so that’s exactly what I’m doing. Never feel like you need to explain yourself to anyone 🩷 calorie deficit 👇🏽 1.	Figure out your maintenance calories — this is how many calories your body needs to maintain its current weight. 2.	Create a deficit — subtract 200–500 calories from your maintenance. If your maintenance is 2,300, eating around 1,800–2,100 puts you in a healthy deficit. Start smaller if you’re new to cutting. 3.	Track your food — you won’t know if you’re in a deficit unless you’re tracking. Use apps like MyFitnessPal or I use the Fitbit app ( you don’t need a Fitbit ) 4.	Be patient & consistent — a deficit isn’t magic. It takes time, consistency, and adjustments. If weight isn’t moving after 2–3 weeks, reassess your intake or activity. 5.	Don’t go too low — eating too little can hurt your energy, muscle retention, and hormones. Fuel your body smart. #whatieatinaday #food #foodstagram #fyp #gymgirl #fypage #explore #gymrat #fitnessmotivation #explorepage #Fitness #fypシ #gymmotivation #caloriedeficit
