Anime fans who complain about “new gens” are just scared that they’ll have to accept that watching japanese cartoons isn’t a talent and doesn’t make you anymore smart/cool/interesting than anyone else.

I don’t blame the authors (gotta hustle for da cash 💶 and if you make p’s by copying id do the same) but I think another problem is Authors, now that anime has become mainstream, most authors aren’t thinking about creating something from their own imagination, their thinking of copying the next popular which introduces us to Isekai’s before anime was mainstream it was easy to find completely different anime’s with different concepts, now? Forget it that’s difficult

I mean the reason it's the 12 episodes is because of quarterly renewals, 12 episodes 1 every week is 3 months(1/4 of the year) and then waiting for a renewal and it's honestly been like that even since before the rise in popularity, I will say it has been worsened since animation teams are being stretched more thinly due to multiple projects but otherwise the industry is more or less the same, it's the fans who are changing and becoming much more sensitive to content which, in my opinion, is the only major negative abt it becoming more mainstream

i don't think the 12 episodes season effect has happened because of anime becoming mainstream, but more like a choice of anime studios, that just don't have enough budget to deliver a good adaptation in 24 consecutive episodes. I think it's actually better this way, as long as we don't have to wait 3 years or something

I’ve been watching anime on Netflix for like ten years plus , it’s no surprise. Only annoying think now is I have to jump between Netflix and Crunchyroll
