I enjoy passing I enjoy the compliment of being told that I pass well I enjoy the safety that it comes with, so I don’t think we should erase it completely because for some people, it brings a lot of joy I’m saying this as a trans man

If you’re a rogue, passing gives you a bonus on certain stealth checks, but otherwise doesn’t really have much effect on gameplay

I want to pass for safety. I know that I don't but I only really feel insecure and dysphoric because the expectations are so high. Like I like what I see in the mirror but then I go out or I go on the internet and see other trans girls or cis girls and feel like the ugliest person ever

Idk, passing was a goal of mine, and one I've achieved. It helped a lot with social dysphoria. Being perceived as the gender you are doesn't count for nothing. It's not the be all end all, and I know it's a privelidge, but it has made a big difference in my daily life.

I dream of a future where passing is unnecessary. I’m proud to be trans and don’t want to hide that fact about me. I wish my trans siblings and I were safe enough to just be ourselves without having to worry about conforming for our own safety

100% agree. I want to pass more, but not pass fully. im 6'5" and I know i will never fully pass. but I wanna pass enough I like myself in the mirror and that people will accept im at least trans and fem at all, and not just a "man in a dress". I think if im clocky but still fem, people wont fight me on it as much, ill still get called slurs and people will still hate me but it absolutely be easier on me physically mentally and emotionally if I passed more, both me personally and publicly.

For me personally, I find it MORE attractive when folks are clocky. It’s cool, it’s fun, it’s unique, and I think it’s important that people can express themselves in whatever way they want, even if the traits they like about themselves aren’t attributed to the gender they identify with

also so many ppl rushing transition and worrying about passing gender wise are still young!! you are still growing!!! you will get there! for now, focus on passing your classes and taking care of yourself, the hormones WILL work, you just gotta give em time.

Also!! There’s a huge racial aspect to this too, I pass more when people know I’m Mexican they don’t think it’s weird that I’m short, and I’m 5’8”, that’s not even that short for a grown adult. Not to mention how people with darker skin get called more “masculine”

imma be honest gang if people have personal goals to pass i don’t think that’s an inherently bad thing. not passing comes with a lot of dysphoria, it’s not wrong to want to illeviate that

passing is just achieving white feminine beauty standards

Consider BLENDING not passing. If you're trans you want to BLENDfor your safety not PASS. Passing is already culturally taken but it also implies that we are up for cis scrutiny in a compulsive sense. BLENDING gives us ownership of whether we want to disclose or not

I mean yeah, some cis people just get dealt odd bodies and traits that don't fit society's traditional gender stereotypes, I thought we all understood that...? And that can give them gender dysmorphia too. Half of any plastic surgeries you'll see are in one way or another gender affirming care, they're ways for men to feel more secure in their masculinity and women in their femininity. Gender in general is wack like that, we're all chasing these "oughts" and "ideals" to make others like us more.
