@nowthisimpact: Do not fall for this Republican talking point. Very few Medicaid recipients don’t work by choice — most are caregivers, students, or are ill or disabled.

So my husband was in a catostrophic accident in October, was hospitalized for months. He has been home since February but still unable to walk. I have had to take care of every single day since he got home. We are ruined and all the savings we scraped together is dwindling every day. There are no viable resources for help and I’m at my wits end honestly

Again. Why was Alaska exempted ? Technically, the way it was worded, Hawaii would also be exempt.

So if you an infant, have chronic ailments or not able to work, break a bone and unable to work - you don’t deserve to be kept alive/access healthcare

“Who choose not to work” that is not a think. They are working, they are getting paid cash. They can’t make enough working other jobs to support themselves, so claim poor to get healthcare. Doing what they need to survive. Their job wouldn’t pay them enough for health care

Some of those who don’t work, our children who are in the foster care system who just lost their healthcare. Children who need medical care because they’ve been abused and severely neglected their severely malnourished they’ve never seen a dentist. They need therapy. They need doctors. They just lost their healthcare.

I love how he says "4.8 million" like it's some gotcha. for context, that's 4.8 million out of 70 million total disabled Americans. 4.8 million from the 340 million national population. no wonder the hosts called him out

Non working population- caregivers, children, infants, students, and the disabled. The GOP is masterful at spinning partial truth to craft an alternate reality for their base

Immigrants who have not gone through the proper customs cannot collect medicaid. Well more, than half percent are children and adults with disabilities that prevent them taking care of themselves and require a caretaker. Barely 2% of medicaid even goes toward prenatal, or pregnancy Healthcare. And even alarming, less goes toward anything like abortions. More than 60% cannot work. There is no ground to stand on to remove medicaid or medicare.

a good portion of people on Medicaid already work full time 😐 also they're not kicking people off, they're cutting Medicaid as a whole so even the people who are qualified to be on it, they may not get kicked off but their benefits r definitely being cut and won't cover as much 😐
