the reason behind that is that they can't comfort you cause that'll make you attached to them quickly and that's what they're avoiding cause you're already there talking to the therapist to move on from something so comforting you will literally do the opposite.

my therapist say I can cry end imagine my safe place. My safe place is a house in the mountains with a beautiful garden.. inside there a beautiful place to relax.. and I need to think I'm hugging my cat and my grandpa.. well when I try to think about my grandpa that hug me too.. I start cry more.. because he's not there as he passed away a lot of time ago... my real safe place is my grandpa.

for all those who don't know, it's because if they console you for tears, you will think that crying is a bad thing, the psychologist is not your close friend or family to console you tears are part of the process in order to the psychologist explain to you that here you have space to release your emotions

ok explanation for the people who don't understand : it's because when a client cries the therapist isn't allowed to comfort them cuz if ever the therapist comforts the client. the client might feel like " ohh I'm crying way to much I gotta pull myself together" and that may interfere with the process of healing and all those stuff😁
