Neutral, handbrake up, let go off the brake- it relieves pressure off the gearbox then put it into park then switch the car off 🤪

There’s no reason to do this…if you put the handbrake on first it has already secured the weight of the car, just go straight to park. There’s no reason to let the weight rest on the handbrake, it won’t roll with the handbrake on

This is actually wrong and does more harm than good. Putting it in N, turning off the car, then shifting to P doesn’t protect anything, it can even stress the parking mechanism. Modern automatics are designed to go straight from D to P, with the handbrake on first to take pressure off the parking pawl. Doing it your way interrupts proper lubrication and can cause damage over time. Ask any certified mechanic, they’ll all say it’s unnecessary and outdated advice.

Golf 7 has Auto Hold as long as its active nd ur not parking on a step road there is no need for all that just put in park and switch off nd go
