everyone commenting that its cause they didnt eant to drill thru all tbe blocks and thats probably it. they didnt have a superhawg with a ship auger, probably only had a paddle bit on an impact drill 😂

Because you have not chipped your 12" auger bit on a nail... why dont carpenters always nail the double top plate above the studs?

there were already holes for the outside plug. the little bit of wire is offset by labor. and we aren't going to try drilling through a big block of wood with 20 nails from hurricane straps. if anything, should have just went through the corner at the top

Easy answer, possibly they didn’t want to go get the drill and make another hole since all holes were drilled first before running wires

Looks like inexperience and definitely they’re not paying for wire. Using a lot more wire and taking a lot more time to do it the way they did it

Why?? Why would you drill a hole though a a block that large?? You see that nail strip? There is about 20 nails in it.

inexperienced people don't realize you cannot drill through a beam unless it's allowed by an engineer, the electrician did the right thing, your building inspector can tell you the same thing 💯

Only way you can drill one of those as he talked to the manufacturer of the beam and they tell me exactly where to drill but you cannot drill up it. You have to drill through it so he did right
