I do not mean this respectfully. If you aren’t currently in the military this conversation is not for you. It’s a new army. I’m not hating on all the old cats but you all have to understand that my generation does not tolerate the things your generation did. If you want people like me and my peers to continue to serve and to join you have to change certain things. I’m not saying let fat people stay in the army, but social media post, earrings, and beards FACTUALLY do not affect my, or anyone else’s ability to do there job

The ones complaining are the ones we need out of our ranks. We are an organization of structure, and discipline. When we let standards fall, the organization will slowly diminish. It’s not about fads, looks etc, we serve our nation and uphold the values instilled upon us. These Senior Leaders are failing these young service members. I just hate how the military thinks that shaving inhibits the ability to soldier this generation isn’t softer it’s just less excepting of bs and disrespect therefore leading to senior leaders thinking we don’t wanna do certain thing it’s not that it’s that we hate being blatantly disrespected and told to do things that don’t make sense and or that senior leaders aren’t doing aswell or wouldn’t do

I will start by saying the changes to the shaving profile standards is obviously meant to be political. it is meant to target black Soldiers. I don't think Soldiers should address this on social media. Retired Soldiers like myself should and we should all address it at the ballot box.

Everyone knows the Army is the welfare check of the US military. It’s not everyone but there is a huge population of people that just don’t care and give military members a bad image, and their behavior is tolerated so it attracts more people like that.

6 years Active Marine Corps. Been in the Army for around 9. Discipline problem is an understatement. The Army has been consistently changing standards to accommodate the weak. Hopefully things are changing for the better.

No offense but beards and baby hair is targeted towards a specific ethnic group and neither of those things affect the way you perform. And honestly breads look way more professional than razor bumps. I agree that we should stand against this
