This is so relevant to me currently. My fiancé pointed out that I’ve been complaining quite a bit lately and I realize he’s absolutely right. I have been. Over the smallest things and with awful timing. I even found something to nag about after he took me on a really nice date recently. He said that it makes him feel like , “what’s the point?” and in hindsight, I completely understand where he’s coming from. I shouldn’t do that. I CAN’T do that. So now I am adamant about thanking him for the things he does right, and recognizing his efforts. I never want him to think “what’s she gonna say THIS time?” He said I don’t have to stop letting him know what’s bothering me altogether, but just to be aware of when I’m complaining and how often I do it, but I’m going to make it my goal to completely focus on the good and try not to nag or nitpick whatsoever. He’s the most amazing man I’ve ever met. Hardworking, respectful, handsome, and wonderful man of God and I don’t want to ruin this. I do NOT want to be that woman who nags 24/7 in her marriage. I want to be his peace, not his headache. He deserves it.

too many books and movies are depicting the "perfect" man to their female target audience, which in turn enforces women to believe they're living an unfulfilled life and inevitably become unhappy with "substandard" men. it seems a lot of them can't leave fiction behind and have to embed it into reality at the cost of a mans wellbeing.
