I first read it back in high school, and now I'm about to graduate from college. It took me a week to finish the book because of the overwhelming pain, the tears, and the unexpected twists in the story. There were parts I couldn’t bring myself to read right away I had to stop and breathe. That’s why it took me that long to finish. It wasn’t just a story , it was an emotional ride. 😭

I was a 2nd year college student that time (2016). Nagpupuyat ako magbasa sa wattpad. Then 2019, hinanap ko yung book sa iba't-ibang NBS store and pandayan (nakisuyo pa ako sa pinsan ko para makumpleto lang yung ibang bahagi ng book) I was so eager na mabili kasi gusto ma-preserved yung memory ko sa ILYS1892. Hope and prayed for the adaptation for almost a decade. Tapos ito lang? Ito lang ang ibibigay nyo samin? So, unacceptable. I was betrayed and disappointed. OA na kung OA sa paningin ng ibang tao pero iniyakan ko literally yung balita na hindi MarNella ang cast! 😢💔

I feel like they’re not really that bothered by the hate they’re getting They probably think that at the end of the day, you’re all still going to watch the series—even if you don’t like the casting. Just think about what happened with the University Series. A lot of fans didn’t like the cast at first, but eventually, they accepted it and watched the series because the acting was actually good—even if the actors didn’t perfectly fit the roles. So honestly, if you really don’t support it, then don’t watch it. Because as long as people keep watching, Viva will keep adapting Wattpad stories, and yet still fail to cast people who truly match the characters. (2)

Despite the backlash Bb. Mia is experiencing due to the ILYS1892 adaptation, it won’t change the fact that she is a brilliant and a passionate author. Her writing and stories made me appreciate history and one of the reasons I am truly looking forward as a reader. Hope she won’t get disheartened by what is happening now, and continue to share stories with fervent fire and love.
