It’s not neutral—it’s not just about “liking the melody.” This is one of the enemy’s subtle ways of slipping into your life. The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing” (Romans 10:17), and your ears are the gateway to the spiritual realm. What does the Bible say? “David played the harp, and the evil spirit departed from Saul.” (See 1 Samuel 16:23) If godly worship can drive out demons, what do you think lyrics filled with pride, lust, and violence invite in? You may think you’re just relaxing, but those lyrics could be silently sowing doubt, fear, anger, and impurity in you. The Bible says: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them.” (1 John 2:15) Satan had instruments built into him (see Ezekiel 28:13), he knows the spiritual power of music, he knows you better than you think. If the music you’re listening to worships God, you’re inviting the Holy Spirit in. But if it’s filled with curses, lust, hatred, and rebellion, you may think you haven’t opened the door, but your ears already have. You can’t sing corrupt lyrics with your mouth and at the same time pray for a pure heart. That’s not worship—it’s confusion. Music is spiritual. Don’t let the enemy capture your soul through rhythm. Next time you put on your headphones, ask yourself: Am I worshipping God, or unknowingly welcoming the enemy?
