I hope Minni and her kids moved in with Celia and Johnny or at least close to each other. After what Leroy did to her she and her kids deserve feeling safe and happy. I also wish that Minni would introduce Celia to Skeeter and Aibileen🥲♥️The book will always be my favourite♥️

I know this movie is blacksploitation, but Minnie’s and Celia’s friendship is SO amazing. From a girl to girl perspective this is so beautiful; Minnie helping Celia through her grief and Celia letting Minnie know that she had people who love her and doesn’t have to stay with her horrible husband ♥️

I really appreciate that, besides the wonderful treatment of Minnie despite the racial segregation of the time, the film depicts the absolute love between Johny and Celia, even though it was a patriarchal society where having a child was considered an important part of becoming a "proper" member of society. Johny respects Celia and Minnie, and he respects his wife's love and interests, even though she might be considered an "improper" woman by the standards of that time.
