I feel like marriages nowadays are treated like a competition. who makes the most money, how takes care of the kids the most, who does the finances, etc. marriage is a team not a competition.

my husband just worked a really busy and demanding work week this last week. Every time his voice became even slightly irritated, it doesn't matter that he knows I love him, I would physically tell him I love him. That he's my favorite person in the whole world and that I recognize how hard he's trucking through. As his wife, I always thank him when I can for allowing me the current peace to take care of the household and not to hold a job while he does with diabetic neuropathy messing with his legs all the time. He works so hard just to get us through and take care of us. 💚 My job is to support him emotionally with love, mentally with the knowledge that I care for the house and cook for him, and physically by still making time to create spaces and time for basic intimacy.
