Ppl need to understand that French is so like sanitised as in there are so little accents, most of tv/radio/musics are sang/spoken with the same Paris French u rarely see ppl with accents on TV or movies and a lot of the time the accent is played as a joke We are so not used to hearing French with different accents that it becomes hard to understand. English has so many accents and pronunciations that u're used to understand differently-spoken English

bonjour is the only French word I've been able to master. so much so going into shops, the attendant will start speaking to me in French. then I speak back *in french* and they just looked disgusted and start speaking English 😭
