This is just working customer service. The gen z stare is when someone’s trying to have a normal interaction with yall and it’s giving the hamster dead on the wheel.

Ok, I get you…but in the restaurant industry we would often ask if new hires had ever worked in a restaurant…if not, we had to train them on everything (sounds like a lot but it was actually easier) if they had worked other places, we had to figure out what bad habits we had to break bc often…they were bringing improper training with them. It sounds like you just had a bad manager…don’t take that bad habit with you to other jobs. A simple hello to every person that walks in IS the correct thing to do. You had it right, don’t let a micro manager prevent you from moving up in future jobs, trust yourself bc you know what’s right.
