@Paging Dr. Fran are there other non invasive ways and painful ways to do this especially for people who have heightened anxiety? I’m sure this isn’t helping people go to the doctors.

Hey I wish OBs were a little more trauma informed and placed the speculum in a different area while the patient undresses. It can be very triggering and distressing to see that thing just sitting on the counter.

In the uk we test for hpv & only look at cells if +, mine was clear but I'm having some symptoms that are worrying me gynae examined me & swabs were clear for infection but I'm thinking of having a private check to see if they will look at cells, I was told that it's unlikely you have cell changes without hpv because it would only happen if your body couldn't clear it is that true? Thanks
