I’m autistic and we have “post outing time”. Once I put stuff away when we get home, I have to sit down or lay down and rest for a while and just chill. My kid knows he can’t ask me for anything unril I’m sitting/laying and have a moment for my brain to breath unless it’s an emergency obv. But if he wants something it will have to wait unril I regulate. But we can still have a convo, he just has to wait until im not engaged in another activity besides resting after an outing. Let me get “settled” for rest before I can work my brain for convo.
