Counselor, Since the cruise lines are aware of the likelihood of a life threatening situation while at sea, insurance should be for-placed for all passengers. A $50 per passenger fee that includes medical coverage and transfer to a US facility in case of emergency.

Absolutely the cruise line have to be to some degree responsible for the care of a passenger. It looks terrible for them if they don’t, and that is the most selfish business of cruise lines can actually implement.

I don’t think the cruise line has the responsibility to foot the bill. Because then we all are paying for it as costs skyrocket to cover these situations. I do think the cruise line should require guests purchase insurance. Just my opinion.

Spencer, if someone has insurance, but they are incapacitated on a cruise ship, how will the ship know that evacuation cost will be covered by insurance, especially if it is a solo traveler.

My first few cruises I didn't get travel insurance thinking it was a waste. And with me having a Heart Transplant, I should have it 100 %. Now every cruise I go on is with travel insurance thanks to TikToks like this. Thank you!!
