This has been said hundreds of times before, but it seems clear that man of steel has ruined everybody’s perception of Superman which doesn’t make sense to me. It’s such a small fingerprint on the grand scheme that is Superman as a monopoly. Can someone explain to me how one set a movies is able to shift public perception on a character that has decades upon decades of history that are all relatively consistent

New superman movie isn't about saving everyone. ironically he doesn't save everything. he stands back while the monster gets killed, while having a front row seat. Then he planned and executed a move to throw his clone into a black hole. That whole thing about superman saving everyone is extremely superficial and not at all accurate.

snyder could've also have pa kent tell clark to save others who need it first while he's hurt. a "needs of the many" or "save the ones with zero chance than me first" scene would work better

I also will not forgive Man of Steel for perpetuating the dangerous myth that you should seek shelter under an overpass in a tornado. The dog was the safest being in the whole scene as an underpass puts you in danger as they increase windspeeds moving through them. While Twisters did this too, almost everyone died because they did this.
