Paul had a thorn that he describes as keeping him in check, 2 Corinthians 12:7-10. Sometimes not yet can mean not in this life, not in this body, but when we are made new. I think this is one reason Paul writes in Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
