The word Kahal is in the Hebrew text. When we translate to Greek we use the word eklesia and the word synagogue interchangeably. Sometimes even in the same sentence you will see both Greek words referring to the same thing. When we translate from Greek to English we usually translate both as Church.

I don't have to pretend anything. In Acts 13 Paul says he is done preaching to the Jews because they refuse to accept the gospel. His custom wasnt to keep the Sabbath but to preach the gospel in the synagogue.
