Had this same conversation about banning 🌽. I brought up how it rots the brain and the women in the industry suffer from extremely high rates of abuse and trafficking, and the pro-freedom gooner rambled on about how it would be infringing on his righ to freedom and the way he wanted to live his life.

Daily reminder that the original settlers who came here for “religious freedoms” was because they wanted a more intense version of a religious society, not less. They wanted to escape the moral decay they believed was ruining England but could not enforce their beliefs on a societal level in the Old World so they went to the New to build their own better society of strict morality and order which founded the New England culture that gave birth to the USA

Heinlein talks about this. The left perpetually wants things for free. They think any cost is unjust. The corollary of Rights are Duties. That's why they're like this. A Right has value, and a Duty is a cost. The leftist can't abide being required to do something.

American freedom was originally built around negative rights, what the government can't do or take away from you. From that a good and moral person should be able to understand just because I can doesn't mean that I should.
