As an adoptee who’s adoptive father just passed away… the scene with Clark and his dad broke me the second time. I don’t know why I was fine the first time I watched it but the second time it had me sobbing like Nancy Kerrigan.

I did like the acting, filmography, special for were all good, however... They made Kent's adopted parents into bumbling country hicks, rather than the smart and strong moraled midwestern parents that made kent into superman. They mutated the back story of his kryptonian parents into evil people who sent superman her to invade and take over the planet, rather than the rebel scientists fighting against their "disaster denial and authoritarian" government, sending Clark he at the last minute to help humanity. superman himself is a weak willed character whodoesn't really know who he is or what he wants to do. they turned supergirl into a ditzzy irisponcible party girl, whose only redeeming quality is that she is the reason superman is pet sitting Cosmo. Green Lantern and Hawk Girl are lame and annoying as hell, and DC compleatly killed any chance of taking either of these characters from this movie into their own movie... The best part of the entire movie is Cosmo the dog, and Mr Terrific, and maybe how they handled the romance between Louis and Clark.

I was glad he didn't have a mission to save the world, but I wish they found a balance to his heritages instead of making him sent to conquer. I also wish a moment of reflection were given to what he did to Ultraman, especially after establishing how much he cared about life (though hopefully he'll have to reckon with this if he comes back as Bizarro, warped by the black hole). I liked pretty much everything else a lot!

I also wasn’t thrilled to see Bradley cooper. But now that you framed it this way, I like it a lot! Even if that’s not what James Gunn intended with casting BC.

the issue with his parents is a think that drives me crazy in real life. people get hung up on genetic relationships to people they have never met. Ma and Pa Kent are his parents. they are the only ones that matter. it's just like the end of Guardians 2.

my favorite head cannon is that the recording from his parents was real in the sense it was sent with him to earth, but I like to think it was doctored by Zod before it was sent
