Toyota tech here whoever replace that filter definitely disconnected it but did not need to and forgot about it was probably a lube tech

My bro, who is a heavy machinery mechanic always told me if I’m not available and u use do those drive-thru oil changes, always take a picture of your engine or check it if everything is connected beforehand, because of stuff like this. Especially in newer vehicles.

Agree with everyone on here. They purposely did it cause they planned on not just charging her for a diagnostic but also labor and materials for something as simple as reconnecting the cable. Thank goodness she has you for a brother so you saved her money

Auto zone does FREE diagnosis. They print out what’s wrong and everything. Never pay for one
