Travel agent here, currently delayed in Turks and Caicos. Book your flight for the day before and buy travel insurance. Delays and cancellations happen all the time for all different reasons. Also, try to book with an airline that offers multiple flights a day to that destination so you have more options to switch if necessary. Worst case, if the flight gets cancelled and the airline can’t protect you that day quickly rent a car and drive to the next airport or to your destination. Be as flexible as you can.
