Yes, this has been said to mme MANY times since my injury. And it hits HARD! I will eventually get over but this hits HARD sometimes… “Faith ≠ a Cure-All” Over the years, I’ve heard variations of this statement: “If you had more faith, you’d walk again.” And every single time, it stings. Not because my faith is shaken, but because it’s a misunderstanding of faith, healing, and God’s plan. Let me say this clearly: Tying someone’s faith to their ability to ‘heal’ is not only inappropriate but deeply misguided. Disability is not a punishment. It’s not a measure of how faithful or worthy someone is. I’ve been a quadriplegic on a ventilator for over 21 years, and although I have had times where I have felt confused in my faith, it doesn’t mean that I don’t have it—not because I’m waiting for a miracle to walk again, but because I know miracles happen on God’s terms and in His timing, not mine or anyone else’s. God doesn’t measure faith by physical outcomes. He sees the heart, the soul, the perseverance, and the love we pour into the lives we’ve been given. My faith isn’t lesser because I don’t walk. And your faith isn’t greater because you do. Disability doesn’t define my faith, and it doesn’t define yours. What defines us is how we show up in this world with the grace, gratitude, and purpose God instilled in us. Faith isn’t about bargaining for miracles. It’s about trusting that God is with us through every step—or wheel—of our journey. Next time you think about saying something like this, remember: Healing isn’t proof of faith; faith is the proof of healing. #fyp #faith #christian #christianity #miracles #spinalcordinjury #disability #quadriplegic #paralyzed
