my extremely love the Superman series I really wish they would update their language around Superman's adoption as an adoptee I have never been able to connect with Superman because it's The narrative of that perfect adoption which is not true in the real world and is very rarely true I think some of the animated series have done it a little better but I feel like most of the movies because maybe they're shorter run time don't handle it very well and present this beautiful adoption narrative which I know is a narrative everyone hears all the time it's just triggering for me because I can't take my kid to it or go to them because I don't want to deal with explaining to him why that is not always the case
