It is often too difficult even within queer spaces to talk about the issues that affect us without people making it about them. I was grateful to hear your experience as I haven't often been exposed to what trans men struggle with. It is frustrating to see people react so poorly.

I'm a cis man, but I stand with you because you deserve the space to live through and in some cases survive your experiences without having them diminished by someone who doesn't understand them. I will never truly understand what you've gone through, no matter how much you explain it to me, but I understand that people, men and women, are capable of doing things that I can't personally think of. for me, it wasn't that you said "misandry," but you didn't really explain what you meant by "casual misandry" in the original video so I didn’t understand until other trans guys explained and gave some examples of how that shows up in their encounters with cis queer women.

i completely agree with you and hope this doesn’t come across as policing your language, but transandrophobia is a term that has been used a lot and i believe started on tumblr to talk about this issue. i don’t like the term misandry in general (mostly because its used by cis men whining) but you were completely correct in the way you used it. it doesn’t have you be systematic to be real 💜

I only transition myself cause I experienced what you mentioned as a cis man & I never saw myself as a woman yet I didn't see anyway to make friends or be accepted until I started to transition. I love living this way despite being terrified 24/7 I really wanted to share & I hope my experience only furthers your point without eliminating your lived experience as a Transman

I genuinely believe there is an inherent hypocrisy problem among too many cis women these days. There is a constant call from them towards others to check your defensiveness and inherent biases and actively listen when they as an oppressed group speak- which absolutely SHOULD be the default, but where is that same energy when THEY are the ones perpetuating the harm and oppression? Because they ARE oppressors of trans people. There has just been such an intense uptick of "women can do no wrong" and "man bad" lately that any voice trying to have conversations like this gets immediately met with a swarm of hostility, defensiveness, and lack of empathy, which is exactly the problem. I've seen so many of the comments on your other videos dismissing yours and other trans men's experiences by saying they never see these things happen. So we're making it up? We're lying? I've been more othered, abused, and discriminated against by cis queer women than any other group but because we're trans men we just can't speak up about it? Or we have to do it the "right" way or we're dismissed and ignored? It's been thoroughly heartbreaking seeing how all of this has played out and seeing how many other of my trans brothers feel so unsafe in our own communities while we're being stripped of our humanity and rights more and more every single day. We're FOUR times more likely to experience violence and be victims than cis women are, but we're the most left behind. Shit just hurts man. Hope all the jerks start leaving you alone soon

It's insane to me how many people genuinely believe that misandry as a concept and as a reality doesn't exist at all and that men deserve to be hated solely for being men just because misogyny exists. Especially so if they also think that making KAM jokes is funny, which they're not. Such behavior harms all people, whether queer or just allies. People will be turned away from solidarity just because they fear being hated on for not following other people's expectations of what progressivism should be like. It's really disgusting, honestly.

Many queer people refuse to accept that misandry (aka hating men for being men) is a thing. Yes, not systematic, but it's a social phenomenon nonetheless. Hating men and putting them in a box is SEXISM. Misandry exists even without misogyny because hating a group of people instead of seeing the actions of individuals is never justifiable.

I've seen transmen use so many words to describe exactly what you have: misandry, misogyny, transphobia, transmisogyny, transandrophobia, etc. and Every. Single. time. People split hairs about the language and ignore what you are all actually saying. It starts to feel like it's not about the language. They just don't want to listen. I think there’s also something to be said about tailoring language for your intended audience. Not to be more palatable, but so people can truly take your message in earnest. I had to watch your video and come back to it because misandry is truly and dogwhistle at this point. Most people just won’t come back to the video at all sadly
