I think it needs to stop being question of public and private and more so specific to the school you are looking at. I went to open day for all of ours. We went private BUT 2nd and 3rd options were public before I would consider the other two privates. Ours is also “all inclusive” so we pay for uniform and fees and that’s it. So it means whatever resources the teachers need, they have and never have to ask us for anything.

I did both. My son goes private (super expensive! all boys school) we both agreed perhaps high school is more important for private for our daughter, and couldn’t afford both at a private school. However we have district schools- so we can’t choose public schools which sucks. Our local wasn’t the best so we’ve made the decision & she’s starting private next term! 🥰

I think public primary is fine, however I don't think 5k. year is a huge expense vs daycare so if the school is better than I think worth it. I am very atheist so would struggle to send my child to a Catholic / Christian however if the education is better then i would do it. Hoping the local public high school is ok though!!!

Banjo will definitely be going to public school. I’m a Christian and went to a public school and I feel like I turned out fine 😆 It’s literally just financially, it’s not something I ever see us being able to afford. And I don’t want to sign up and realise we can’t keep up with the cost and have to move him to a different school. I don’t want to go into debt over something that we can get for free. To each their own of course! My dad went to a private school and my cousins went to private schools and I see no problems with that! 🥰

I think private school is very different to catholic schools. Catholic schools are not really private schools

I went to a catholic school from K-12 and love my schooling and my daughters are at a catholic school. Wouldn’t call it a private school, it’s about $6000 for both of them, but worth every cent. Love the values and like minded families.

it entirely depends on the schools in the area - from a high school teacher

Private school is cheaper than daycare for us! We choose private but if it wasn’t affordable would have been happy with the local public school

All my sisters went to a private high schools and I chose to go public! I think we had similar experiences going to both depending on our financial situation we’ll still most likely go public though

We are doing private for our girls, both primary and secondary. I’ve attended both primary and private schools, there are definitely pros and cons to each but the big difference I personally found was the learning environment. I loved my public primary school but not highschool but that’s just my own experience.

At the moment school fees are $900/ month for us. The difference in my kids since they've been at a higher quality school is amazing 😍

We were thinking about private secondary school but public primary but now we’re on a list for the local private primary just to work out which way we want to do 😅 it’s definitely a lot of money though
