Thank you. After 31 yrs of marriage I finally got enough courage to tell him I’m leaving. Then he broke down in tears and said he’ll never treat me that way again. He stopped drinking and made an app with a therapist. He says is believes me now and he can’t believe he treated me so bad. Why do I feel so bad now that I’m torn if I should leave or give him one last chance….

It was incredibly difficult. It took me 6 years and a lot of therapy. My therapist suggested that my husband might be a narcissist and that there is no 'cure'. That sent me on a journey to understand NPD and he continually checked all the boxes. YOU and some other creators helped me immensely as well. THANK YOU! xx

Being the type of person that would NEVER ever give up on someone I love makes it a million times harder to do so. Sadly, it took years and endless therapy sessions to fully grasp that saving myself from misery by leaving is the only option. I am so incredibly proud of myself. Living my best life 💪🏼

yeah, it's like literally something clicked in my head packed my things at that moment and took 1 of the 3 automobile we have, we're married and she called the police on me. I told her it's marital property. the cops agreed, she was more upset for the car than worrying bout why im leaving. told her why you think I left you. she said i didn't leave her, she can take care of herself. it's still hard been a couple weeks now. it's like I know I did nothing wrong, but I had to leave but I didn't want to, because I loved her, knew her since high-school. im class of 97. Just wanted to say this. appreciate your page

I had someone ask me why I didn’t just leave, and my response was, not only was I in a trauma bond, I promised her I would never leave. but after a year and a half of misery, I had to.
