Matt Reeves Batman is not in the DCU universe. He is his own movie and I really hope they don’t put Patterson’s Batman with Superman’s DCU because I felt like it was boring and they could get somebody better.

It’s much like the comic books, each hero only handles their own turf, Batman/Gotham, Superman/Metropolis, Flash/Central City, even Nightwing being the former Robin only patrols Blüdhaven because in some cases if another hero just showed up it would just turn into a JLA comic/show and what would be the point of branding anything a “Superman” movie or comic if any hero can just stroll in and finish the villain? Superman definitely has the powers to just fly from Metropolis to Gotham and stop Joker before Batman can pull the Batmobile out of the Batcave, so why make anything Batman, let him retire and just have him “the guy in the chair and chief strategist” for Superman.

Dude the whole point of the movie is things like kaiju attacks and interdimensional riffs are Completely Common Batman is probably across the bay in Gotham fighting his own giant kaiju and stopping his own interdimensional demons with the bat family at the same time. Nothing big enough yet to unite everyone.

Batman works alone and at this point in DC his focus is Gotham. Sure he’s keeping an I on everything, but won’t get involved if he thinks it will effect Gotham. If the riff was effecting Gotham, we may see him in a flashback. Like the Sorcerer Supreme in the Battle of NY.
