All the locals go mad for mum’s salt and pepper family box, also known as “munchie box”, it’s a big deal in Sheffield and for good reason. You’ve got chicken balls, chicken strips, onion rings, chips, mini rolls and bbq ribs, all deep fried and tossed in Mama Yu’s Salt and Pepper Seasoning - a proper treat, also well deserved if you’re coming back from Glastonbury or watching the euros. Also, if your local Chinese takeaway doesn’t serve this dish (more often found up north of UK than south) then make it at home !! Recipe for seasoning is below ! Aaaand yes this isn’t an authentic Chinese dish but it caters to the western audience and it’s delicious 😭❤️🥡 📍 Wok Inn, Sheffield (S12 3DZ) Note: the recipe for the salt + pepper seasoning makes 3-4 portions, so you can make extra and save for the future For the seasoning: 1 tbsp salt 1 tbsp paprika powder 2 tbsp MSG 2 1/2 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp five spice powder, black pepper, garlic powder, ginger powder and chilli flakes 1/4 tsp Sichuan peppercorn powder and cumin powder #chinesetakeaway #saltandpepperbox
