I’d rather be seen by a physician who can be themselves 100% of the time (even at work) than one who feels like they have to fit the “physician” stereotype on their personal time. When I had surgery last year, my anesthesiologist walked into my pre-op room cracking jokes with a handlebar mustach & a rainbow unicorn scrub cap. And you know what? Hell ya. I immediately felt like I was in good hands with someone who felt comfortable being themself. Come to find out, he was also the Chief of Anesthesia for that hospital. P.S. I also work in healthcare and the new generation of docs are so much nicer to work with. 😅 you do YOU✨
