This is the best most impactful advice for anyone getting started. learn learn learn and master the fundamentals when you are making little so when the moment comes you can maximize your higher earnings. the flip side is the default lifestyle inflation that causes high earners to stay broke forever

I know what i did when I started making money. I panicked and took the profits. In 2005 I was granted stick options of 1000 shares of ORLY. I was told not to sell until I retired, but I decided to cash out instead of taking on a 30 year mortgage. Had I held on to that stock with the two stock splits since then is have 30k shares worth 2.8 million. It's easy to panic when you don't have extra income. I also used to cash out ORLY stock every few months as it was on a meteoric rise...big mistake too. Luckily I left my 401k somewhat intact.
