@pbsnews: As more states limit or ban access to abortion, some are beginning to push adoption as an alternative for women facing unplanned pregnancies. But when do laws go from accommodating to exploitative? From the Center for Investigative Reporting, Julia Lurie examines the consequences in one of the most adoption-friendly states in the country. #news #pbsnews #adoption #unplannedpregnancy

Instead of worrying about preventing abortion why don’t we help struggling parents and children?

I once chose pistachio ice cream over strawberry. A choice I later regretted. So I feel for them. NOT!

It’s sad. I understand that adoption can be a good thing, my husband was adopted, but I don’t understand why it’s so expensive. IMO unless the money is going to the care of the child then they ARE SELLING/BUYING CHILDREN! And that part is disgusting

In the 70s. my mom was on the run from an abusive relationship, pregnant, and needed help. Catholic charities in MA promised her immediate placement, no foster or facilities in between, open records so her and her son could find each other after age 18. When that day came, all the records were "missing". Multiple private investigators and scandals already happening at the church, it took years to find out the truth. Threats from a news agency that brought about the miracle of them suddenly finding the file. Mass Cath. Charities was trading babies with Rhode Island, where one state had white adoptive couples looking for white babies and vice versa in the other state. And my brother WAS in a church-ran orphanage for a MONTH. They changed my brother's birthday. They also threw away the letter my mom wrote for him and his family history for him to have even if he didn't want to meet. We were really skeptical we even has the right person until we met him. He looked like us and even had our family personality.

Financial coercion is not a consensual adoption. And I have a hunch that these people call themselves "christians" and "pro-life."
