So true! My 20 year old son has decided he needs to distance himself from me (the betrayed) and has now gravitated to his father (the serial cheater). Their relationship is purely superficial. They have NEVER discussed exactly what happened yet I’m the bad guy.

My kids are 7 (girl) and 10 (boy) - they have heard the yelling and seen the tears - how do I approach it with them? My husband had a 5 year affair and Dday was last August. It's been so hard for me. Both of us have trauma/infidelity coaches and I have a separate therapist. I don't want to traumatize them even more. My kids don't know what happened but know something happened.

my ex wife cheated on me, she always said she would never cheat because her mom cheated on her dad. she blames me for her cheating and bashes me to our kids. I will never bash her to my kids ever. my son is struggling so much and is getting counseling, I try and check in with him and see how he is feeling but we are living in different cities at the moment. I am working on selling my house and moving closer to them so that I can be there for them more.

My mother became extremely bitter after my father cheated and divorced her. There wasn’t a day until the day he died that he didn’t live rent free in her head. We were AFFECTED to say the least.

💯 My cheating husband's parents were long term affair partners who raised him in a state of normalized cheating. But I'm doing my best to break his cycle, I've spent 2 years now helping my kids process and align with their values. Supporting their boundaries with him helps them feel aligned with themselves. And if they do go down his path in their futures, I'll do what I can to keep helping them heal. Cheating hurts everyone.

Along with those dynamics what’s interesting is when people accept people and their cheating mentality they actually lower their standards. Maybe part of the reason they end up repeating it as well.

My ex thought she was able to manipulate me with the kids but I stayed a little longer because of them and I’m a decent human being. She’s a cheater and always will be they are adults now and know the truth.
