Paying my mortgage off was my main goal from my late twenties... Just good old saving into an offset mortgage and not even stocks and shares (s&s "may" have been better) with a middle income achieved that by my mid thirties... I was lucky in lots of ways I guess.

My focus during my 20s and 30s was to aggressively pay off my mortgage. I did that by 35 but then bought a bigger house! So I’ve now got a £500k house with £120k mortgage, and about £100k in savings, (£9k in T212, £50k in company share scheme, £50k cash isa, £10k premium bonds) 300k in pension. Age 45 wish I’d done more.

Anyone can get rich, with enough time and compound interest, if you buy into a get rich quick scheme, the person pushing that scheme is the only one getting rich, if that wasn’t true, everyone would be rich already 😉
