I am someone who works a customer facing job and also I have a noticeably alternative style. the amount of old people that I have looked at across my desk and tell them that it takes all kinds and that id be equally upset if I woke up tomorrow looking like them.

This is what happens when you (society) use the threat of diabetes to bully fat people. People misunderstand diabetes (of all types: 1, 1.5, 2, gestational) and see it as a thing to be bullied about. 😡

My 25 year old daughter was diagnosed with T1 at 12 months! She was a Barbie girl and am still buying it for her now! Would have loved this as a 1 year old that needed 3 shot a day to LIVE! Like she would have died like 30 years ago!

I worked at a gas station here in Las Vegas that would do regular charity functions and donations for type 1 diabetes. there was an upsetting number of people who had no idea there were two types of diabetes or that type 1 is not one that people can just diet away. lots and lots of angry men demanding to understand why they should have to donate anything to "fat people" and me having to explain for the millionth time that that's not what type 1 diabetes is. They were already mean people but ignorance just adds that extra layer of frustration

They think all autoimmune conditions are vaccine related even though most people my age have a least one immune condition and were raised pre vaccine.

I know several small children with diabetes. There was no way to prevent it and it certainly cannot be reversed. 🙄
