Dumbledore suggested the Potter family use the Fidelius Charm. This spell hides a person or place so completely that only the Secret-Keeper can reveal the location, and James and Lily chose Peter Pettigrew, believing it would be a less obvious choice, which he betrayed them instead of picking Dumbledore, who would have been the safest option for them.

When you’re young everything looks so black and white, good and evil. Dumbledore was our hero and snape our villain. As an adult I can see the complexity of their characters and dumbledore was willing to do anything, including sacrificing harry, to defeat evil. Snape was just a broken man who lost everything, he blamed himself and he blamed James. He hated harry for looking like the man who took her from him and couldn’t protect her, but loved the sides of his mother that became more apparent as he grew. In the end they were both willing to do anything to protect what they cared about.

I wish people would stop saying Dumbledore was a good guy he wasn't you could even see snap didn't agree with dumbledore keeping harry alive for him to die at the right moment you could see the distress and disgust snap had on his face with what dumbledore said but i will say yes it's true snap had his moments of showing he was bad but truely he wasn't bad I can't say book snap I'm saying movie snap to me he did all he could for harry without him knowing because of his love for lily out wayed everything else

it's not Dumbledore's fault, he told them to use a charm that would hide their location in which only one person would know the location cause of how the charm works, they chose Peter Pettigrew instead of Dumbledore, he betrayed them revealed their location to vort and they died.

People act like dumbledore could have done anything differently? Harry was a hocrux there was nothing that could be done also Harry would die sooner or later as voldemort would never stop hunting him so dumbledore made a plan that ensured he was alive even after dying. Read the books people.
