I have a fix - it's stored in the body, irregardless of how much of the body is there. so xebec left his fruit in his original body, moving his soul and heart into bb. the heart is now xebecs body. and therefore can contain a devil fruit. this also means if you stab blackbeard in the heart, depending on which one you get, either xebec or blackbeard would die (xebec could take over bbs body this way)

what if blackbeard ate a fruit that allowed him to eat multiple fruits, which ties into the "devil fruits came from wishes" of where someone (whose was greedy) wanted a fruit where they could eat multiple of them. which could also tie in with the "blackbeard will have 3 fruits" theory where instead of him having 3 in the future, what if he has 3 now?

it's really cool seeing everyone make really nuanced arguments and try to figure this out, however i don't believe his theory cause i think the funniest twist would be that people can just have multiple devil fruits, dying from it is a myth and blackbeard just figured it out

But what if the fruit is only tied the person while they are whole…? Say the heart and soul holds the devil fruit but if the heart is removed from the body, its severs the connection of the devil fruit and now, no longer has ties to a devil fruit. If the separated heart is then put into another body, it would allow for the use of the other fruit as the heart would hold the fruit and soul would power it? Just a thought…

The thing i feel like is being forgotten is that the fruits are not being stored inside of bb at all but rather the yomi yomi. The fruit allows you to absorb things and negate the fruit (the devil) bb suppresses the devil and thus can use the fruit without the devil fighting for control as it CANT fight at all
