Okay I have been that parent…. And now my kids are 21 and 15. So for these people saying what are they going to be like. Well they are the sweetest caring individuals. It was my 21 year old and it happened when I was pregnant with the 15 year old. So no I couldn’t pick them up

My pda/ autistic grandson has a certain way to do things, including getting in the car. If it's off in the slightest he is not going to do it. If you physically pick him up to put him in the car he takes it as physical assault basically and things get heated fast. His brain doesn't register we are not trying to hurt him. I've gotten some looks and let me tell you I'll be the first to tell you to mind your fing business !!! We do things differently over here all day everyday!!!!

you say that until the child may be too big for you to handle yourself physically in that kind of way and having to basically crawl in the car to buckle them in. you literally can't say you wouldn't tolerate it if you've never been in that situation.

The point though, is, to not HAVE to grab your kid and put him in the car. If you have to escalate to that, you're even weaker than the parent arguing for 5 min.... it's a tough job to be a parent.

talking about it (begging, yelling, asking, any of the options) is allowing the kid to escape the demand placed. they are dragging out completing the task. you are doing more damage the longer it takes. #1 rule, I don't negotiate with terrorists.

I lived by this. My daughter is 4.5 and her dad & I split a few months back. Her demeanor towards me has changed 180. It’s so hard to deal with this while at the same time, she’s telling me she doesn’t like my house. It’s so hard, especially as a single parent.

My child is a mommas boy and won’t leave my sight. So I say fine stay and turn my back and he immediately panics and follows. I don’t negotiate with terrorist 😂 and PS I don’t walk away I’m never more than a 5’ away.
