**Obviously the things I have said about my own journey does not apply to all SW, and is just my testimony and explanations as to why I am leaving the industry. I did a LOT of relfecting and thinking, asking myself a lot of hard questions. I did one last s^le as I weighed out the pros and cons, and decided that the pros just weren't enough to outweigh the cons anymore. Sure, I was my own boss, made my own hours, got to harness and make money off of my creativity, got to get paid to cosplay and have fun, got to take breaks whenever I needed (as long as content was scheduled out), could work from home or anywhere, little overheard costs/startup fee with unlimited income potential, made money while I slept, and it was what I was used to. But I was so fucking exhausted. It is one of the most draining jobs I have ever worked. You can work all day everyday, never take any breaks, do the absolute most, advertise everywhere constantly, put your heart and soul into your work for years, and receive pennies in return. It is NOT a #getrichquick scheme. It's not all glitz, glam and racks, its a lot of staring at screens, analytics, memorizing algorithms, editing, uploading,, making the same posts on 40 different apps, and hoping something takes off to make it all worth it. Most people don't even pay for this type of...content. It is a lot of effort for 0 promise of reward. Having a job tied to your body and looks can put a lot of pressure on you, and if you strugfle with eating issues or self image, this has the potential to be very damaging. When you aren't making as much as the other creators, you start to question why, and if you don't have a stable foundation of self love and self worth, this can take you to some dark places. I am not trying to talk anyone out of it, but I will never try to talk someone into it. The people on this app you see glamorizing NEVER speak of the cons, and always have a referral link. If I had known all of the cons before starting, and how it would shape my life and my brain, I dont know that I would have done it. But there's no going back and I have no regrets. I've learned a lot from my experiences in the industry, and learned a lot about myself in the process. I have grown a lot since I joined. I am so grateful to those who supported me in these last 8 years. You kept me fed, kept my bills paid, you watched me gain my confidence and leave a few terrible situations. You've grown with me. I've aged, I've changed, my goals are different now, my wants and desires are different now. I'm different now. Anyways, thank you to everyone new, everyone who is a regular, and the few of you who have been here from the beginning. I will always be grateful to you all for every bit of support you have ever given me, through the good times and the bad. 💖 may things balance out and align us all where we are needed 💓 #mytruth #quitting #prosandcons #healing #alignment #industry #educational #educationalpurposes
