@hopeelleauthentic: This is based on a real conversation with a nurse during my pre-surgery appointment for my shoulder replacement. NGL, it was quite gender affirming and I'm not complaining... but it seemed like answering the first time would have put the rest of the questions to rest. My mom finally explained I don't have those parts! #transgender #genderaffirming #mtftrans #fyp #transpregnancy
It tracks that the right can target and weaponize trans folks when there is this level of basic misunderstanding even in the medical profession. Society needs more education and exposure, not less. But with that comes acceptance, which makes it clear why they want all things LGBTQIA.... banned from schools.

Ah yes, you’ve been inducted fully into being a women not listened to at medical offices! I’m 12 years post hysterectomy… I understand why they ask at each intake at the beginning of each appointment, because that initial person probably isn’t looking at your full record. But the amount of times they then just rephrase the question or argue about it really makes me wonder and worry.

I was told by a surgery nurse that if you appear female and they have no record of a hysterectomy they are required to do a pregnancy test. It's a CYA thing

I STG I’m just going to jump back across to Canada if I need any surgeries. I’ve never had to take a pregnancy test before surgery. Or X-rays.

I was surgically sterilized over a decade ago and still get this. Like, yes, I get my period, but it's just performative at this point.

😭 this happened to my friend who was 60+ and getting surgery for cancer at the same hospital she'd been to for previous cancers. The 2nd ask she goes "miss, I was treated for prostate cancer a decade ago. I have never menstruated and if I had, I'd definitely be in menopause by now." The pt tech put down "10 years ago" which caused her Dr to ask wtf happened. Absolutely the funniest day of her cancer treatment.

I had a hysterectomy 15 years ago. The amount of pregnancy tests I've had to do in that 15 year time frame is astonishing.

Next time just tell them “requiring completely unnecessary tests is a form of insurance fraud”. They usually quit pushing, but it seems like the nurse you had was pretty dense to begin with sooooo🤷♀️

hilarious. Reminds me of when they wanted to do the air test on my prosthetic eye at the Dr's. I tapped on it, and said it's not real...well we just want to be sure! hahahahaha

I used to train medical personnel about treating trans people and "which trans people can get pregnant" was definitely necessary curricula.
