I had a problem similar to this my first time snowboarding. However I broke both my wrists so I couldn’t actually get my phone from my pocket 😂

A good example of why you should know the number and what could happen if you don't i was a dumb teen at the time when a guy fell and didn't get up just sat there and other people just kept going past him it was tourist season and most of them are always focused on getting down safe themselves to notice(i spotted him from downhill when i paused to take one foot out the straps bc it was my first time after a few years pause snowboarding and i felt more comfortable manouvering with one leg free) so i hopped back up the hill to ask him what was up..he had hurt his arm and he was a tourist so he didn't speak our language so he didn't know who to call for help ect and well unfortunately i also didn't know the ski patrol number so on my first big hill trip down after a few years pause i had to book it down before i felt comfy on the board again to catch a ski patrol guy i had seen when going up(they wear super high viz gear like full uniform so they draw my eye everytime)..luckily i know that place super well and was able to tell them exactly where he was even without direct line of sight to him..i don't know what happened but i know they reached the guy cuz i went down a second time and he wasn't there anymore and my parents mentioned seeing a ski patrol with someone on the back of it...had i also fell most likely both of us would have been stuck there till someone else helped..and had i known the number i wouldn't have had to rush to catch the one ski patrol i guessed was there...and also had i been someone less familiar with the place i might have given misleading info of where the guy was so..keep that dang number on y'all people
